Book club: The traveling cat chronicals by Hiro Arikawa

Hello hello!

Last year we have adopted a cat and since then I’m obsessed with cats. I didn’t think I would say or write down the following words, but I am a proud cat mom haha LOVE IT!

Before covid me and le boyfriend often visited a book store and came across The travelling cat chronicles, I don’t know how many time. It became an inside joke, as the idea of reading a story from a cats perspective sounded so funny, but neither of us bought it. Until le boyfriend gifted it to me.

So this year, I’m trying (again) to read at least 1 book a month. And to push myself to actually due that, me and my sister are both reading the same book every month.

We started the year GREAT with The traveling cat chronicles.

The traveling cat chronicles is about Satoru and Nana. And takes place in Japan. Nana is a stray cat that after he gets hit by a car is saved and adopted by Satoru.

After a few years Satoru and Nana travel to some of his friends. Through which you get to know Satoru’s life. And more I can’t tell, because I don’t want to give anything away.

The story is fun, sweet and heartbreaking. 💔

It is such a beautiful story and well written! (you do notice that due to translation the flow of some sentences are a bit weird) But ugh its such a nice read and hits you right in the feels.

But I recommend this book to everyone!

4.5 out of 5 stars!

XO, Maxime
